St Malo to Chichester 5 day trip
August 26 - August 30£599.00
Back by popular demand, this is a one way Channel crossing, starting in St Malo and ending in Chichester. The reason this trip is popular is because it allows for a continuous passage through the Channel Islands, covering new ground every day. You will have to arrange your own ferry to join the boat in St Malo. A regular service runs from Portsmouth (foot passenger from £40) and your skipper can meet you from the ferry terminal.
The itenerary is weather dependent, but there are many beautiful anchorages to choose from and being islands, always a place to find shelter from the wind. Last summer we managed two visits to Isles Chaussey, a magical set of reefs near Granville, where many small beaches appear at low tide.
This cruising area has plenty of navigational challange for those wanting to build on their pilotage skills. We aim to involve everyone in the plans made on each trip so that everyone can get the most out of their time onboard. Whether it is simply time at sea or honing your wind awareness, visiting beautiful anchorages or being the one who guides us in, there is something for everyone.
The five days will be leading up to our channel crossing home, usually leaving from the northernmost Channel Island of Alderney, which can be left at any state of tide, day or night.
Sail Boat Project is a uniquely vegan and vegetarian sailing organisation. You are of course welcome to eat what you like ashore, but rest assured we keep our boats well stocked with plenty of tasty and healthy food to satisfy everyone onboard. Offering plant based meals is part of our commitment to reducing our organisation’s impact on the planet. Your booking also contributes to our Community Sailing Fund, widening access to the sea for a range of community groups. Though the Fund we offer sailing activities at subsidised rates to increase confidence and learn new skills.
