Falmouth to Itchenor sailing trip
April 28 - May 2Free
This trip starts in Falmouth, taking in the South Coast all the way back to our base in Chichester Harbour. The itinerary is weather dependent, but there will be some longer passages involving night hours and watch systems. Part of our route will involve crossing Lyme Bay and working out the tidal streams for Portland Bill, as well as deciding whether to cross through the Solent or pass south of the Isle of Wight. Takes place onboard our yacht Jalapeno.
This trip is for those who want to clock up some miles and experience extended passage making. There are opportunities to skipper parts of the trip if you need to log passages of 60+nautical miles for an upcoming Yachtmaster examination.
Ideal for those working towards more advanced qualifications, or just looking for a little more adventure in their lives!
You are welcome to stay on board the night before in Falmouth to help with the travel. Book trains to Falmouth Town.
- No extra charge for sailing waterproofs and boots on courses & trips.
- Good food! All meals and snacks included – vegetarian and vegan food by default as part of our commitment to lowering our company’s carbon footprint. You are of course welcome to eat what you like ashore, but rest assured we keep our boats well stocked with plenty of tasty and healthy food to satisfy everyone onboard.
- Onboard libraries of learning resources
Sail Boat Project is a Workers’ Co-operative (registered as a Community Interest Company) established in 2009, providing a range of learning activities based around sailing. We aim to widen access to the sea, offering sail training to individuals and community groups. We are also involved in sail transport of cargo.
All bookings support our Community Sailing Fund, widening access to the sea for a range of community groups. Through the Fund we offer sailing activities at subsidised rates to increase confidence and learn new skills.
